This watch is wonderful in pristine condition. The case is unblemished, the dial is perfect and the movement has been recently serviced. It has a new fine quality Hirsch crocodile strap which has been re-fitted with the original IWC white gold bracelet. The repeat is working perfectly and sounds as clear as a bell. The model 5240/07 was produced by IWC in white gold was introduced in 1995 and discontinued in 2005. IWC The International Watch Company was founded in 1868 by an American called Florentine Ariosto Jones; Jones was then a director of the famous American clock and watchmaking company E. Howard & Co. Jones set up the new IWC factory in Schaffhausen in the north east of Switzerland. In the 1880's the company was taken over by the Rauschenbach family who owned it until 1986. It was subsequently bought by the LMH Group who also had interests in Jaeger Le Coultre, A. Lange & Sohne & Audemars Piguet. In 200 IWC was acquired by the Richemont Group for $2.8 billion.
